Youthful Fashion at the 2014 Emmy Awards

We just can’t get enough of some of the hottest looks worn at this years’ Emmy Awards by some of our favorite ladies from the big and small screens. Here are a few of Runway Teen’s favorite fresh, youthful styles that really grabbed our attention.

Sarah Hyland The star of the hit television show Modern Family rocked the red carpet this year. Sarah Chose a beautiful, bright, floor-length coral skirt by Christian Siriano. She paired the long, full skirt with a white, crop-top to keep it elegant, clean and simple. We also admired her look at the pre 2014 Emmy award nominee party, at which she wore a stunning cream, sleeveless crop-top embellished with sparkle by Georges Hobeika. She paired the top with a wide-leg cream trouser-pant by Alberta Ferretti, along side gorgeous heels, and an Oroton clutch.

Flattering Suit Style for Every Body Type

Bathing Suit Plus TeenThe days of summer are drawing near, and for some, that means the dreaded anxiety that goes hand in hand with bathing suit season.

Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes but that is no reason to fear the endless racks of suits that taunt us. With just a few simple rules to follow when you are out shopping, it can become a fun and easy experience. It’s all about finding the right suit for your body type. Just like other clothing items, nothing is ever one sizes fits all, and those pieces that claim they are, are just simply lying.

If you are busty you want to make sure that you stick to supportive suits that incorporate underwire or broad adjustable bands in your choice of top. This will help give support and comfort. You will want to make sure that you avoid suits with loose ties or bikinis with cups that are too small. Supportive halter bikinis and one-pieces are also great options.

If you are pear shaped with fuller hips or thighs, you can find suits that add pretty embellishments above the waist to draw the eye away from your lower body. Suits with slimming belts and bright, summery colors are also a great way to go. Make sure that you avoid the boy shorts and look for bottoms that have a curve cut to give the illusion of longer legs.

If you are apple shaped, you will want to look for styles that slim your tummy. The best way to help slim this area is to use textured fabrics or suits that incorporate a ruched style. Tankinis are a great way to help create the illusion of a slim tummy. There are also suits available on the market that have extra support that will help tuck in the tummy. You will want to avoid belts and embellishments that draw attention to the middle.

Lastly, for women who have a straight figure, using bold colors and fun print patterns is a great way to help accent your body and give the illusion of curves. Ruffles, texture and padding can also be a great addition to the suit. You want to avoid using vertical lines and solid colors and bikinis are a good match for this body style.

Make sure to find a suit that makes you feel comfortable, with these tips we hope you will find the shopping excursion an enjoyable adventure and not a dreaded chore. Remember, the summer is about making memories, traveling and letting your hair down. Tossing a fabulous new suit in your luggage is just the icing on top!

Hot Accessory: The Shoulder Bag

While clutches are perfect for elegant and formal events, and totes are great for days at the beach, what about when you’re out with your friends at the mall or running errands? Since clutches don’t have straps, and totes can be too oversized, you need something that is practical while still keeping you hands free.

That’s where shoulder bags come in. This accessory comes in so many different shapes and designs- from slouchy satchels to messenger bags, the variety is diverse.

Actress Cassie Scerbo (bottom, left) brought her brown shoulder bag to a charity picnic in Los Angeles, CA, leaving a few buckles undone on the bag to give the outfit a casual vibe. While actress Nina Dobrev (bottom, right) paired her black, scaly shoulder bag with a blazer - opting for a look that was more business-casual.

Trend Alert: November 2012

Clothing: It's getting cold babes! Have to go to school and you're feeling like you just want a comfy day? You can dress up the usual sweatpants and a sweatshirt with a cute and colorful scarf and some cute boots! Or you can have a cute tank with a knit sweater with some yoga pants and a pair of flats. Why not be comfortable and still look cute?       Feeling great and wanna go out looking hot and fashionable? You're favorite jeans with a crop top and a pair of either your choice of flats or even just some Converse or Vans would look great! Dress it up with a multiple chain necklace, a watch or a charm bracelet, and some hoop earrings. I am the type of person who tries to look great everyday unless I know its just not worth it that day, then I will go comfy.       Hair: Curls are in! With a wand or a curling iron you can make magic! Don't feel like you will have the time to curl your hair? Waves are next in line! You can braid your hair (French, fishtail, ect.) the night before and take it out the next morning, just add some hair spray. Don't feel like doing much with your hair? A messy bun is perfect if you're in a hurry or just feeling lazy.`       Makeup: Gold and nude eye shadow are the colors of this month. You can use a little bit of eye liner (you can choose the color, I use blue because I have blue eyes), and mascara would tie everything together! Long eyelashes can be either cute or sexy! Also, putting mascara on the bottom will bring out your eyes better. Lighter lipsticks and glosses would look super cute also!
